Xbox Reveal: Xbox One

I am currently watching the revealing of the new Xbox One and the new technology associated with it. I’m quite impressed with what I’ve seen so far and I’m only a few minutes in. There are three shown components of the Xbox One that have been revealed: a sleeker physical controller that has some minor tweaking, the main console that features a disc insert slot (finally trayless), and what seems to be a facelifted Kinect.

It seems that a lot of consideration has gone into the design of the Xbox One. It’s an all-in-one system that changes the way we see entertainment forever. With the words, “Xbox on,” Xbox One is instantly powered on. The Xbox One console has an elegant design that features a blu-ray drive, USB 3.0 ports, and 8 GB RAM. Xbox One losses the organic curves that its predecessor Xbox 360 has. While the Xbox 360 teeters, the straight and sleek lines of the Xbox One makes this a solid console. The controller is updated with over 40 design innovations making it more ergonomic, responsive, and more precise when it comes to gaming. The Kinect receives some more bulk and meat and is also solidified with a wider and sturdier stand.

Xbox One is looking to be more intelligent and immersive. Over a dozen new franchises from Microsoft Studios will be released during the Xbox One’s first year of release. Although no release date has been available at this point, it has been slipped that it will be around E3 this summer.

I’ll post final thoughts after I finish watching the reveal.

Update: I’m thinking both the Xbox One and its rival, PS4 will not be backwards compatible when it comes to gaming. Not that I mind too much honestly. I’m sure better games will be out and since Dance Central 4 will be released this October, I’m definitely not worried. I’ve had the Xbox 360 slim for a few years now and am ready for something new. I feel bad for the people who just got a 360 but that’s just the way it is. EA and Microsoft have undergone a special contract although the details still elude me. From what the announcement revealed, ths two are working towards creating an immersive gaming experience when it comes to sports. A live-action Halo series involving Steven Spielberg is in effect.

The Xbox One’s graphic look sharp and realistic. I’m not too worried about price as I imagine it would still be relatively affordable. Perhaps $500 or so since it is an all-in-one system.

I must say the announcement was ended abruptly but that just leaves more to be desired. E3 will take place in June and more details on the price, options, and release date will be announced then.

School, Gym, and Dance Central 3

I know there hasn’t been much activity on this blog from my end. School started three weeks ago and I’ve been doing my best to stay on top. Despite my continuing success in school, I did momentarily doubt myself. I’m feeling a lot better about my career choices and I aspire to be highly successful. I began writing a short story last night. I’ve got a few pages down and maybe it’ll get somewhere if I stay diligent. It’s a coming of age story and I guess it’ll probably appeal to younger adults or even teens. I just wanted to write that’s all. I know my writing is damn good but people will never know if I don’t write. I used to write often, but I’ve stopped doing many things these days such as baking, hosting, painting, etc.

I’m taking six classes at the moment with one half-term class and five full-terms. I just got through my midterm on the half-term class and I look forward to getting all A’s this semester. I don’t feel late anymore because there are plenty of people who started school at the same time I did, and they’ll graduate this year. I can’t say that their grades look that good though.

I have so many projects in my head, If I could, I’d hire someone to type for me. Typing is so tedious especially when you’re the type of person who has to change every error as you go.

Peter and I signed up for our gym memberships at Planet Fitness. I used to workout there about three years ago and I am glad that I am back. I didn’t have a great experience with the other location due to cancellation issues but I really do like this one. It’s busy though around the time that we’re able to go. We started last Saturday, missed Monday so we went on Tuesday, missed Wednesday because of the tornado watch, and we’re going tonight. I usually hate it when my schedule gets thrown off because I have Dance Central days on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays for another class. Also, there was a classmate in one of my classes who said Planet Fitness is a waste of money and that it smells funny. That place is full of sweaty people working out, what was it supposed to smell like? Plus, if $10-20 is too much, then you probably couldn’t afford the gym anyway considering the cost of other gyms. I absolutely hate working out at home or outside so I resort to the gym (unless it Dance Central).

I’ve been relaxing and kind of bored this week since I finished all of my assignments on the day the new week began. I just have to make sure I keep writing the short story.

Here is a cluster of this week’s photos:

I’ll try my best to post as much as I workout every week! :)
