Update lest I get Heartburn …

Well, time flies, doesn’t it? I feel like I’m back to April typing away at this hour because I still can’t sleep much these days especially since I just ate about two hours ago. A lot has happened so far so I thought it’d be wise to update everyone on a few things. I’ve officially moved into the new two bedroom apartment last Friday and that was also a day after I was carted off to the hospital for spraining my ankle. It seems to be healing well so far, but I hate the fact that it is a bit puffed up and bruised. I’m getting more and more lethargic these days and I can’t wait to get the pool party/baby shower over with. I mean, I’ve been feeling a bit anti-social but I have no choice but to go anyway.

I really wanted to take photos of the apartment before everything had been put in, but that just didn’t happen. Now, I’m stuck with a mess of a new move and I’ve been way too tired to even move a thing.

And speaking of the move, the apartment came with a kitten, found literally underneath our fridge. It belonged to the neighborhood cat that was fed by a neighbor and it must’ve snuck in while we were moving since we practically had the front and back door propped open all day. We’re naming it Mittens and we’ll get around to taking it to the clinic to get it updated on its vaccinations. Mittens is such a quirky cat yet he is so chill. He doesn’t seem to mind anything that we might do to him, as he’s always exposing his belly more or less like a dog for us to pet and caress. Mittens thinks that it’s a scarf as he always drapes himself over our chest and necks. It’s cute, but I’d rather be scarf-less while I sleep.

So tired …. forget updating. I must sleep.

Sleep Deprived … Again

Just when things seem to be getting better, I’m once again going through my insomnia phase. When will it ever end?

So the Microsoft store opened on Friday and the American Idol finalists (did it end already?) dropped by Lenox Mall yesterday for a meet-and-greet followed by a performance in the parking lot. I’m pretty sure I would’ve gone but it just doesn’t feel right taking advantage of that kind of exclusivity when I don’t even follow American Idol (as you may have probably guessed).

I pretty much stayed at home and proceeded to manually shred stacks of paper bills while watching Cake Boss. Speaking

of Cake Boss, why haven’t I heard of it sooner? I mean, I have seen the ads around town, but I never thought much about it. Turns out it’s been running on TLC for a few good seasons and each episode is a treat despite them being only twentyish minutes long each.

And it’s also strange that the week I discover Cake Boss, I’d actually signed up for cake decorating classes prior. The classes are so cheap and affordable at Michael’s, the local arts and crafts store down the street from where I live. I bake avidly and I’ve never had any professional training so I’m excited to start the classes. I haven’t baked much since I moved to this apartment but I hope to be doing so soon, especially when I move into the new 2000 sq. foot 2 bedroom apartment a week or two from now. My kitchen-to-be will actually resemble a real kitchen and less like a closet like the current one now. So I’m super pumped about everything now and I’m hoping for the best in the next few weeks. I can’t wait to post tons of photos on the cake decorating class and videos of the renovated apartment.

But for now, hopefully I can fall asleep soon enough.

Note: Here’s the links for the Wilton Cake Decorating classes in case anyone wants to find a class nearby to start decorating, too!
