Perricone Cold Plasma and Upcoming Finals

It kills me that I’m not writing every day but let me just say that time flies, especially when you’re caught up between essay after essay and homework for school. I’m trying to get all of my coursework done. I’m taking five classes this semester and it’s only going to get worse when I take six classes in spring. Wish me luck and I hope I keep my sanity intact! I’m trying to graduate with honors. Then I’ll be off to attend Oglethopre University. I know there are alternatives but I’m very intrigued by their individual planned major option where you can create your own major if they do not offer it. If I’m going to be shoveling $15K a semester, might as well do it with a lot of acquired freedom.

Finals are coming up so I’ll be a bit busy. All I’m going to say is that I will try to update the blog. :)

I’ve decorated my Christmas tree already … since November 1st but I had to take all of the ornaments down because my cats kept knocking down the tree. The tree is still up and I’ve installed a ceiling hook to secure the tree with a fishing line attached to it. I’m just going to let the cats get it out of their system for a month before I begin putting up the decorations again. However, I must say that the wreath hanging on my door looks fabulous. I’ll post a photo of it later because I don’t want to go out in the cold right now. I have my Christmas tablecloth and chair cushions placed and the centerpiece looks stunning. No wonder people love Christmas. You just can’t be gloomy with all the glitter and gold around you. I’ve got all of the presents wrapped and stored away in the closet so I’m stoked!

Here is a photo of my tree before I took of the ornaments. I’m still researching on how to decorate a better looking tree so consider this my first draft. I used the traditional red, green, and real tree last year so I wanted a very blue, silver, and white artificial wonderland concept for this year. Can you believe I decorated everything and my entire house for under $100 (mind you I threw out all of last year’s items)??:

Anyway, on to Perricone MD. For anyone who doesn’t know the line, it’s a high-end cosmetics and skincare line by Dr. Perricone, a reknown dermatologist. I hadn’t tried any of his products until tonight. When I ordered some Christmas gifts from Sephora, the Perricone Cold Plasma was included as a sample. I’ve seen it before at Sephora and I knew it was expensive, about $155 for an ounce. I was anxious to try it so I cleaned up nicely and applied half of the sample after I cleansed and toned my face after taking a steamy shower.

I admit, the smell was very off-putting … it smelled like salmon roe and I am pretty sure that after checking the manufacturer’s website that there is definitely fish in that jar. So much for my aromatic french toast cooking session and my relaxing shower. I like salmon roe; Am I accustomed to it going on my face? Probably not. Anyway, I massaged it into my face and specifically worked it into some of the dry spots on my face. It absorbs quickly and your skin does feel pretty nourished afterward and not shiny either. I applied Kiehl’s Midnight Recovery Concentrate afterward and followed through with my Kiehl’s Panthenol Protein face cream.

I can honestly say that although I do not condone it, I cannot stop touching my face. I didn’t change any of my skincare steps other than add in the Cold Plasma so I’m pretty sure it’s responsible for how my skin looks and feels right now. It makes your skin feel very soft and velvety … hydrated, dewy, and youthful. And I can tell you that my skin is always puffy and red after a shower for about thirty minutes to an hour and the Cold Plasma actually reduced the redness and sensitive state of my skin. The smell goes away after a while and after doing an intensive google session, Cold Plasma actually helps to further increase the effectiveness of your other skincare products that you layer onto it. Youtubers are raving about it and I hope maybe after a day or two, I’ll decide whether I should splurge or not. They have a Cold Plasma body too that supposedly helps with toning, cellulite, and hydration so that sounds like a plus. I just ran out of Kiehl’s Creme de Corps so I’m bound to do some skincare shopping soon.

Have a good night and I’ll write more soon.

New Glasses!

I got new glasses today and I even got a ride home from Snow who works at the optical. I’ve known her since I was 12 and time does fly. I had been waiting to pick up my glasses all week so I’m glad I got there four minutes until close. :D My frames were from Christian Dior which costed about $300. I got the super thin lenses with anti-glare so I wouldn’t have to deal with heavier glasses anymore that reflected all too much. My lenses went for about $179. Here are the black acetate Dior frames:

They are extremely light and thin, a huge contrast to my retiring Gucci frames. I noticed that I like black acetate. I don’t like metal frames at all and I HATE nose pads. Gold hardware has also called out to me throughout the years with an exception for with my mahogany Armani frames. The gold hardware will probably be more durable and I like how thin the frames. It reminds me of a tv these days where it seems like it’s floating because the bezels are thinner. The Diors have a very thin bezel and it really opens up the space and creates a more feminine look. I like thick frames but sometimes, they are be too harsh.

Me in my new everyday glasses!

And I decided to get sunglasses as well.  I like sunglasses but I’m extremely picky with designs. I’m not really a person who just chooses something for the brand but I will identify with the consistency of style a brand creates. For example, I love Gucci eyewear because of the thick sides and the gold hardware. The nose pads or lack of nose pads are super comfy with my face structure. These will be my second designer pair of sunglasses. My first and super favorites are the Versace with the Swarovski crystal lattice design. These are from Gucci, my second piece of eyewear from them, and I really like the unique design. It has a dark, mahogany front that is transparent and the inner sides are a metallic silver color. The Gucci logo is of gold hardware and is set with crystals as well in a prong setting. The side of the sunglasses are cut out and you can see how thin the lenses are. A pretty nice pair of sunglasses I can say. They were priced at $260.

The lenses have a very nice ombre effect to them.

These could become my new favorites and I’m glad they’re much lighter and less trendy than the Versace Jackie-O-esque ones.

Here are my old Gucci frames. They are going back into their box and peace and love to them. They have served me well, lol.

The lenses are a lot thicker so I’m glad I paid extra to keep them thin and trim.

How did I get all these boxes!!!

I also got a year’s supply of contact lenses but there is no point blogging about them.

Have a great day everyone!
