Food, Inc. Sheds Light on Food Industry while Jersey Shore’s Fakeness is a Downer

I love documentaries.

There’s always something new to learn about and it’s much more entertaining to watch than the news (although I do watch that weekly). From the dangers of bottled water, capitalism, to body modification, I’m able to see different perspectives in the world.

I watched Food, Inc. today and it was a bit of an eye-opener for me. Food, Inc. takes viewers on an exclusive trip to see exactly what goes on behind the scenes of the food processing industry. Basically in plain words, why e-coli outbreaks are so common today, what we’re feeding livestock, the living arrangements on animals, and the farmers who’ve been sued for not being on the bandwagon.

A lot of questions have been raised inside my head while watching this film, many of which people go through everyday. I can keep on supporting the mass production of food and all the issues that surround it by buying the cheaper alternative, or I can make a difference by going organic. We all know that organic food isn’t cheap, but it’s definitely tough knowing that just about everything out there is made from corn, making us literally … walking pieces of corn. Changing what you eat isn’t like changing our drinking water source. All I had to do was install a Pur filter and I was saved. Going against generically engineered food requires financial support and a lot of time.

Sigh, decisions, decisions. But although it may not change you are, please check Food, Inc. out. It’s very well made.

A few days ago, I stumbled upon a video about Jersey Shore being fake as reviewed by a youtuber. I watch it online whenever a few episodes pile up, and yes, I can consider it a guilty pleasure of mine. I’ve never believed television to be real. I just don’t buy the whole idea that major drama can happen when called for every episode. The “cast” of Jersey Shore obviously are rolling in the dough for this. Don’t think we don’t notice those nose jobs, Jersey Shore. But anyway, this youtuber pointed out on the crazy bar fight in season 4 that there was definitely a set-up scene. Snooks and Deena were waiting for their cue to start going nuts and I’m not so surprised that it was so obvious. This doesn’t change my feelings towards the show although it’s getting to a point that I want the show to wrap up already. You’re Cut Off was so much better. See the breakdown for yourself below:
